Swimming Camp.
When summer is at its peak, the only activity that tempts a child is ducking into cool waters and be able to swim. DPS always gives opportunity to its children to learn and enjoy swimming during summer break. The swimming camp is put up for students and their parents from 13th May to 13th June. The expert coaches will be conducting these classes in the morning as well as evening.
Staff Party
A lively Staff Party was organized on evening of 11th May at Hotel Indra Prakash, which marked the beginning of the Summer Break for the staff. The new staff members also joined in to Celebrate the jovial moments with the rest of the faculty. Birthday wishes were extended to the staff members with their Birthdays falling in the months December to April. The teachers enjoyed to their fullest.
Mother’s Day
The second Sunday of May is celebrated as Mother’s Day. At Delhi Public School Mother’s Day was celebrated in the Pre-Primary section on 10th May 2013.
A competition was organized for the mothers in which they were allotted a soft board each to decorate it in their own way. The mothers enthusiastically participated in the activity and enjoyed it. The mothers were also invited to school with their bags, bottles and lunch like kids to spend one day at school. This effort gathered much admiration from all.
The students of class Nursery were asked to make cards for their mothers and they showed their creativity in making cards. In addition to this, the tiny tots of Prep were asked to bring their mother’s photograph and then make a frame for it. The young dipsites made beautiful photo frames by using different materials.
All these activities were organized to make them realize the importance of mother in life.
Inter House English Debate
Inter house English Debate competition was organized for the students of DPS Udaipur in three categories: Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior on 4th May 2013. Different topics were given for all the three categories and students came forward with strong arguements for and against the topic.
The topic were:
Sub-Juniors (III - V)                -           Advertisement Creates false needs.
Junior (VI - VIII)                      -           To value Money is a need to inculcate in children now-a-days.       
Senior (IX - XII)                       -           The inclusion of value based questions in the
                                                            curriculum will inculcate values among young students”
The best session was the rebuttal round when the interjector asked one question each to the speaker spontaneously. The open session gave the students and the teachers a chance to participate in the argumentative session.

Formative Assessment - I
Students geared up with the syllabus taught, FA-I was conducted in the form of weekly test for classes II to class XII. Students put forth their zealous efforts in the test. Their Weekly Test copies are shown to them so that they further work on the areas which is needed.
Holiday Assignment
Keeping in the mind that students should not feel bore in the long break, very interesting and creative Summer Assignment is given by the subject teachers. It is in the form of Poster Making, Collage Making, Creative Writing, Problem Solving etc. To develop the reading skilled vocabulary in students long reading books assignment is given to Middle & Senior section. DPS believes that the assignment given to the students well certainly help them in shaping their overall personality.  
PTM (11th May 2013)
Before going for summer break an interacting session was organized for parents and teachers from classes Pre-Nursery to VIII on 11th May 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This provided a platform to the parents and teachers to discuss about the performance of the children and how the break can be utilized to shape the hidden talents of the children. The parents also enjoyed the Live Show viz – Ramp Walk, Enacting as a Mother etc.
Innovations Adopted
Delhi Public School Udaipur always believes in adopting innovations in imparting curricular and co-curricular exposure to its students. In this session the school has selected two Language Co-ordinators from each class and gave them badges to promote English speaking environment.
In addition to this, detailed observation report has been sent to the parents of all the new students. The report has been made with great precision by the class teacher with the help of subject teachers.
To develop the general aptitude of the students Saturday Assignment in the form of MCQ worksheet has been started. The students are given this worksheet on every Saturday which comprises of questions based on General Knowledge, Science, Mental Ability and English. The students are enjoying this assignment and can be seen discussing the answers in buses. During PTM, Live Shows were organized which gathered much praise from the visiting parents. The Singing concert at the ground floor was highly appreciated. The Ramp Walk was also organized in which the students decked themselves according to the theme ‘Summer’ and they enjoyed walking on the Ramp. The young girls dressed themselves as Mothers from various states and enacted as mothers. They enthusiastically put up kitchen articles and behaved as real mothers. This concept of Live Shows was highly admired by the parents.          
Inter DPS Hindustani Vocal Music Competition
The Inter DPS Hindustani Vocal Music Competition was organized by the Delhi Public School Society at DPS Gandhinagar in the month of May. A total of nine Delhi Public Schools of the West Zone participated. Our school secured third position in both Solo & Group Song Category. The participants were awarded the prize and the individual certificates.
IPCE

DPS, Udaipur was the centre for IPCE – May, 2013. The examination was conducted very smoothly & sacredly from 3rd May to 15th May under the supervision of Department of ICAI. 180 students appeared for the said examination from DPS, Udaipur centre.
